Peace of Mind Package
Safety and security solutions for Whitley Bay, North Tyneside and beyond
Did you know 18% of domestic fires in England are caused by faulty wiring and appliances? There’s also the risk of shocks. So it’s vital to make sure everything electrical is safe to live with and use. The experts at LS Electrical Services use two kinds of tests to provide you with peace of mind – EICR testing and PAT testing.
The right service for you
Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
An EICR is like an MOT for home electrics. We’ll examine wiring, sockets, switches and fuse boards for tell-tale signs like cracks, heat and discoloration. If we find any problems we’ll go on to fix them.
We carry out EIRC tests for our landlord clients on their properties every five years, as required by law. However, also we recommend EICR for home-owners. If a faulty electrical fitting in your home caught fire, your insurer may refuse your claim for damage if they believe your electrical systems have not been maintained.
If you are moving to a new house (that isn’t a new build), we recommend that you get an EICR carried out when you move in. This will reassure you that the electrical installation in your new home is up to standard.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Think of all the electrical appliances in your home that are not built-in or which you carry around – freezers, irons, microwaves, toasters, desktop computers, laptop cables, lawn mowers, power tools, lamps, televisions. How safe are they to use?
Our team are certified PAT Testers with the skills to carry out visual inspections for defects such as cracks, dents, scorch marks and wear, as well as to use specialist PAT equipment to examine insulation or earthing. If we detect faults we’ll fix them or recommend replacing the appliance and even help to source it for you.
Smoke and fire Alarms
To make absolutely sure you get the best protection we are approved installers of fire, smoke and carbon monoxide detection systems from aico, the European leader. Their Multi-Sensors alarms contain Optical as well Heat Sensors to detect both smoke and heat, which enables a fast and effective response to both fast flaming and slow smouldering fires. You couldn’t be more reliably warned.
